This page is a placeholder. It shows the shape of a privacy policy so the layout can be signed off. Every line below still needs writing, checking and putting into Molly's own words before the site goes live.
What this page is for
If you give someone your email address, they have to tell you what happens to it. That is all a privacy policy really is.
What I collect
Two things, and only if you hand them over yourself:
- Your email address, if you sign up for news about new work.
- Your name, email address and whatever you write, if you send an enquiry through the contact form.
Nothing is collected from people who simply read the site. There is no tracking, no advertising and no cookies beyond what the site needs to work.
What I do with it
Enquiries are read and replied to, and that is the end of it. Newsletter addresses are used to send occasional news about new pieces, and nothing else. Nothing is ever sold or passed on for marketing.
Who else can see it
[MOLLY: this is the honest bit and it does need to be here.] The website is hosted by Netlify, so form submissions pass through and are stored on their systems. If card payments are switched on later, Stripe will handle payment details — I never see a card number.
How long it is kept
[MOLLY: pick a period you will actually stick to. "As long as I need it to reply to you" is a legitimate answer for enquiries.]
Your rights
You can ask what I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, and I will do it. Newsletter emails have an unsubscribe link and leaving takes one click.
Getting in touch
[MOLLY: your name, and an address. UK rules mean whoever is responsible for the data has to be identifiable and contactable. For most people working from home this is a home address, but it is worth reading up on before you decide — there are alternatives, and it is your call rather than mine.]
[MOLLY: also worth two minutes — the ICO has a short self-assessment that tells you whether you need to register with them and pay their annual fee. It may well say you do not.]
